In the years to come, Kalyan Jewellers plans to expand its presence in the non-Southern states of India. The company has opted for the asset-light ‘FOCO model’ (franchise owns, company operates) which allows them to expand their jewellery franchise without having to make big investments in physical assets, such as store locations, inventory, and equipment.
This is expected to make the store expansion process faster and more capital efficient than the traditional expansion model.
Kalyan Jewellers has been a massive wealth creator post its Initial Public Offering in March 2021. The IPO was priced at ₹ 87 per share. For the next 1 year and 3 months, the stock was in a downtrend – falling to a low of ₹ 55 per share in June 2022.
