Founded in the year 2005 by Dr. Satyanarayana Chava, Laurus Labs is a Hyderabad-based Indian pharmaceutical company. It specializes in the development and manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), intermediates, and finished dosage forms.
Laurus Labs has a global presence; exporting its products to numerous countries around the world. The company played a role in the production of APIs for the treatment of COVID-19.
Currently, the company focuses on therapeutic areas such as anti-diabetics, antiretrovirals, oncology, cardiovascular, CNS, and anti-infectives.
Laurus Labs was one of the leaders of the Post-Covid bull market. From a share price of approximately ₹ 65 at the end of March 2020 – Laurus Labs gained more than 1000% – hitting an ‘all time high’ share price of ₹ 723 in August 2021.
Post the massive run, Laurus Labs was in a downtrend – with its share price losing 60% of its value. From highs of ₹ 723 in August 2021, the stock price fell to a low of ₹ 286 at the end of March 2023.
Since then, a steady uptrend has begun even though Laurus Labs hasn’t participated in the massive ‘Mid and Small cap’ rally in the Indian market.
