Marico Limited is one of the most iconic companies in India. You may not have heard of Marico, but almost everyone has heard of the brand Parachute. Yes, the same blue colour coconut oil bottle – which is part of every household in India.
Marico was established in 1988 under the name of Marico Foods Limited. Later in 1989, the name of the company changed from Marico Foods to Marico Industries.
With its headquarters in Mumbai, Marico is present in over 25 countries across Africa and Asia.
It owns brands in categories of hair care, skin care, edible oils, health foods, male grooming and fabric care.
The company’s portfolio of brands includes Parachute, Saffola, Saffola FITTIFY, Nihar Naturals, Parachute Advanced, Hair and Care, Livon, Set Wet, Mediker, Revive, Beardo, Just Herbs, Coco Soul, Pure Sense and True Elements.
Harsh Mariwala is the chairman and Saugata Gupta assumed the role of managing director in March 2014 and is currently the MD and CEO of the organisation.
Marico was first listed on the Indian stock exchange in 1996.
